‘All that is necessary for the triumph of evil
is that good men do nothing’ (or words to that effect)
that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly
shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt .
22Ye shall not afflict any widow, or
thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear
9Also thou shalt not oppress a stranger: for
ye know the heart of a stranger, seeing ye were strangers in the land of Egypt .
the LORD your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, a mighty, and
a terrible, which regardeth not persons, nor taketh reward:
doth execute the judgment of the fatherless and widow, and loveth the stranger,
in giving him food and raiment.
ye therefore the stranger: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt .
hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy
hand: the poor committeth
himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.
setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with
chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.
9The LORD preserveth the strangers; he
relieveth the fatherless and widow: but
the way of the wicked he turneth upside down.
LORD will destroy the house of the proud: but he will establish the
border of the widow.
thy fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and
let thy widows trust in me.
